Lhálets’et means ‘cutting (it) up’. The base word is lhíts’et – cut it, with some partial doubling (‘reduplication’) and a vowel change, probably marking a kind of ongoing action, or else that there was a lot of cutting.
Pronunciation
Lhálets’et sounds like this: LA-luh-tsitt, except that the first ‘L‘ is ‘hissy’ (lh, made with more friction, and no vibration in the throat). There is also a catch in the throat (‘glottal stop’) after the ts sound.
