Li te Wólich… means ‘at Wahleach…’.
Audio: Elizabeth Herrling
Structure
- li – this has several different uses in the language, but here the best translation is at. Li can also mark other spatial relations, including in and on. Elders also use li as an ‘auxilary’ (‘helper’) verb, before the main verb, in certain constructions, including yes/no questions.
- te – the
- Wólich – Wahleach (a place name)
Note that Elders say literally ‘the Wahleach’, where in English we do not add ‘the‘ before place names
