Q’emó:stel is the name for a ‘dip-net’.


Pronunciation

Q’emó:stel sounds kuh-MOSS-tull, except that instead of a k the first sound is the Halq’eméylem q, which you make by touching the back of your tongue to your uvula.

This q is also ‘popped’ or ‘ejective’ (q’). You make the pop by combining the q with a catch in the throat (glottal stop)
